Wedding stationery is an essential part of wedding planning. Stationery usually involves a set of combined prints, that will show your family and friends that style of your wedding. It goes without saying that once you receive a wedding invitation, for example, you already imagine the event you have been invited to. For this reason is very important to choose the right stationery set as it will be the first step to announce to all guests when and where you are getting married.

What will I read in this article about Wedding stationery: all you need to know?

  1. What’s wedding stationery?
  2. How important is wedding stationery?
  3. Wedding stationery: a chance to intrigue your guests
  4. Wedding invitation suite
  5. Wedding Stationery you need at the wedding day
  6. When you should order a stationery for your wedding
  7. Conclusion

What’s wedding stationery?

When we talk about stationery, we do not refer exclusively to wedding invitations. The main elements of the wedding stationery are: invitations, ceremony order of service, seating plan, table numbers or names, placecards, menu, tags for favours, thank you cards and guestbook.

Whether you’re going for a traditional wedding, or something more modern, all stationery elements have to be chosen carefully, they should coordinate all together and follow the style you want to have at your event.

You can get inspired by a specific theme but also from a specific colour palette: normally the one we use for invitation is also used for flowers and all decorations.

Graphic and fonts play an important role too: I am in love with geometric style and I like to use script-like fine fonts to enhance the delicate touch of the wedding invitation.

How important is wedding stationery?

Wedding stationery is not an insignificant detail. On the contrary, it is one of the most important elements in a wedding design.

Firstly, the wedding invitation communicates much more than key informations (who, where and when). It sets the tone for your celebration giving your guests an idea of how they should dress, and what kind of day your wedding will be. It’s also a special opportunity to show your couple’s style and personality.

All the other printings that will follow – seating plan, table numbers, place cards, menu, tags for favours, thank you cards – draw a common thread throughout the event.

Wedding stationery: a chance to intrigue your guests

Decades ago the wedding invitations were really simple as they were just used to announce the date of the wedding.

Nowadays, you can play with different materials creating something special to surprise the guests. Handmade paper, cotton paper, plexiglas, carton and wood. We can choose between digital print or artisan letterpress, add a touch of glam with a cotton or silk ribbon and a sealing wax with your initials or a special design that you can reproduce to all your wedding favours and napkins.

You could customize all details of your wedding stationery with a watercolor, an artwork that represents your wedding venue or your couple, or a logo.

My personal advice is to use this logo to customize your favors and all signals that will be used during the wedding, for example for parking, aperitif and toilettes.

Wedding invitation suite

The wedding invitation suite can consist of several elements: save the date card, invitations, Rspv cards, the map card to reach the wedding venue.
Wedding invitations are essential. All others are optional. The bride and groom choose according to their taste. Let’s find out more.

The Save the Date is the first clue to the style of your wedding that your guests will see. If you choose to include it in your wedding stationery set, I recommend sending out your save the dates as soon as you have booked the venue and completed the guest list.

Wedding invitations can be designed in the style that suits your couple best. There are plenty of designs to choose from, whether your style is modern and minimal or rustic and romantic.
The invitations, theme and color scheme should fit perfectly with the wedding season and the location.
Another important step is to check the accuracy of the information. It may seem obvious but it is not. In addition to your wedding planner, share the draft invitations with someone you trust as well to make sure that nothing has been missed.

One of the things that stresses brides and grooms the most is waiting for confirmation of guest attendance.
Having confirmation of your guests’ as soon as possible means you can move forward with all the preparations. Sending an RSVP card along with the wedding invitation is a quick and efficient way to make sure your guests let you know if they will be present.
These are smaller cards with a check box to indicate whether or not the guest can attend. You may want to include a response date and contact information in the card.

Wedding Stationery you need at the wedding day

Besides invitations – simple or more sophisticated – there is wedding day stationery. Below you have a checklist from which to choose your essentials.

The order of service is a small ceremony guide for your guests. You can include the start time, prayers or readings, the music that will be played, or any useful information. The order of service is usually placed at the guest seats or delivered by a member of the wedding party at the entrance of the ceremony. Like all other elements, the order of service should be in harmony with the rest of your wedding stationery.

Table or a seating plan have a practical function, allowing guests to get organized and avoid questions on the day, but they are also a great decorative element.

Place cards are a very nice way to make your guests feel welcome, a little but important detail. In addition, place cards as well as the table plan are useful for defining the seating arrangement.

Wedding menu cards add a delicious touch to your wedding tables and are a great way to ensure that your guests know what to expect. The design of the menu should also match the rest of the style of your wedding.

Just like place cards, table numbers make it easy for your guests to find their seats.
You can have fun with different designs and unique supports: not only paper, but also wood and plexiglass.

A thank you card is such a small gesture, but it will have great meaning for whoever receives it. Thank your loved ones for their presence and gifts.

The guestbook is optional, but it is a sentimental and fun part of a wedding. Guests can leave their own thoughts or wishes for the bride and groom, who will keep a beautiful memory of their big day.

When you should order a stationery for your wedding

I know very well how important printing is as my couples, coming from all around the world, start thinking about that as soon as they decide to hire me, so we start working together also on these details.

From the start of the planning process, it is important to determine the style and design of the wedding stationery by defining it according to the season, venue and personality of the newlyweds.

Then you will proceed step by step to print the stationery elements that you will need first. Closer to the big day, you will make the other elements containing all the updated information, such as the menu or the time of the ceremony.

Conclusion

Your wedding stationery is one of the most important part of your wedding plan.

Deciding on printing methods, paper types, colors, styles, fonts and of themes can be tricky. If you think that this job is too much for you, leave it to experienced hands.

I guide and support my clients in choosing every detail of their big day, including stationery.
So grab a coffee, take a look at some of the stationery from weddings I've planned.

When you are ready, contact me. It will be wonderful to plan every detail together.

Beginning in the 14th century, the splendid Gothic cathedral has been filled with numerous works of art by Italy’s greatest painters, sculptors and architects.

In reality, the cost of a wedding in Tuscany can vary greatly and depends on several factors.
If you want to know more about it, I discuss it in this article.

Wedding venues in Siena Italy

If I had to list all the fantastic venues where I have had the honor of planning weddings, one article would not be enough. All of Tuscany, and in particular Siena and the Chianti area, is full of fantastic wedding venues: villas, mansions and farmhouses.

Below you will find a small selection of some wedding venues in and around Siena.

Villa Dino

Villa Dino is an exclusive country resort in close proximity to Siena.
This beautiful property is structured in different areas. Gardens with ancient trees, terraces, a relax area with two pools and a bar; a restaurant, a wine cantina, rooms, suites and apartments characterized by Tuscan furniture to welcome guests even after the ceremony. All rooms offer beautiful views of the olive groves and vineyards surrounding the estate.

The in-house restaurant offers delicious Tuscan dishes and uses seasonal ingredients from its own vegetable garden and local farms. The authentic and recently restored winery is also available for your wedding and creates an unforgettable experience with its historic atmosphere.

In addition, if you would like a civil ceremony, Siena City Hall is easily accessible. Or you can celebrate your symbolic or religious blessing in the gardens of this venue.

Casa Claudia

This beautiful farmhouse, once a monastery, is located not far from Siena and is surrounded by vineyards.

Every corner in this venue lends itself to a wedding shoot: the road lined with tall cypress trees leading up to the farmhouse, the infinity pool from which there are spectacular panoramic views of the hills in the distance.
The lawn next to the main building is perfect for an outdoor wedding reception.
The property consists of six modern, tastefully furnished apartments that can accommodate your destination wedding guests. The farmhouse offers guests wine tastings and a tour of the vineyards.

At night the entire farmhouse is illuminated by beautiful lights creating a truly characteristic atmosphere.

Villa Carlotta

Villa Carlotta is really within walking distance of beautiful Siena and in the center of the Val d'Orcia.
This beautiful venue dates back to approximately the IX century as does the small church next to the building.

Villa Carlotta has been recently restored and is perfectly suited for a wedding reception. The interior halls with beamed ceilings and stone walls provide an elegant and contemporary setting. The panoramic terraces, courtyard or lemon house lend themselves to outdoor aperitifs.

Planning your wedding at this villa also means being able to taste the delicious cuisine of Carlotta, a chef renowned throughout Italy.

Villa Catignano

Villa Catignano was the venue for the marriage of Jade and Jamie, a wonderful couple who hired me for the entire planning of the most important day of their lives.

Read on, I will tell you about it in detail in the next paragraph.

Jade and Jamie’s wedding at Villa Catignano in Siena

When Jade and Jamie called me to organize their wedding in Tuscany I was aware that they had already booked one of the most wonderful villas in Tuscany, Villa Catignano.

Nestled in the heart of Chianti, Villa Catignano is a magnificent 17th-century villa. Its classic beauty creates the perfect setting for an exclusive Tuscan wedding.
Villa Catignano is framed by the Italian Garden and the so-called English Woods. And among the olive groves, the Viale dei Cipressi leads to the swimming pool area, from which there are breathtaking views of Siena and its surroundings.

As we started emailing more than two years before the wedding we had plenty of time to organize any detail of the different moments.

They wanted a big wedding with all their family and friends and the whole event lasted three days: all guests arrived at the Villa from Pisa and Florence airports with a private shuttel service and for their welcome dinner they had a nice pizza party in the cottages garden. Aurora catering prepared pizza from the oven in the garden while the guests enjoyed watching a movie on a screen in the garden.

On the wedding day the bridal party went to Jade’s suite to help her gettig ready for the big moment: it was a quite relaxed moment, they had breakfast delivered in the suite and there was also tiem for some glasses of Prosecco! Jamie and his bestmen went to take some pictures in the living rooms covered with frescoes, this is one of the rooms I like the most!

As the weather was perfect we were in time and the guests started sit down as planned: when Jade came off from the Villa she was stunning in her bridal dress.

The civil ceremoy held with th Pastor was very emotional and just after saying “I do” the couple was ready to go arond and take some pictures with the photographer Andre Corsi.

The aperitif was served in the Renaissance garden and all guests enjoyed the variety of Tuscan nibbles and the canapes served by the waiters.

But the time to sit down for dinner arrived and the couple wanted to start this special moment with a speech: the table and all the grounds were finely decorated from Agriflor. The palette of colors choosen by Jade went from white to beige and from light lilac to brownish with lots of roses and lysiantus matching perfectly with the long stem candles.

The dinner was served under a ceiling of string lights in the Villa courtyard but the best moment arrived when the bride changed her dress to get into the dancing area! The band started playing disco music and the open bar organized by Eventin provided great cocktails to keep all guests dancing. Bride and Groom asked specoifically to have a neon light in the dancing area with "The Beasons-Brown" written and it was really a nice touch added to the athmosphere. It was a really magical night and I am sure that not just Jade and Jamie but all the guests will rememebr it forever!

A special venue in Florence for Alex and Laura’s wedding

Florence is full of spectacular venues, many are famous and known to most, while others are yet to be discovered.

When Alex and Laura contacted me for their wedding in Tuscany, they wanted something intimate close to Florence.

After a weekend of visits they decided for a farmhouse not too far from the city. It was a long weekend of good food and wine: the Fattoria made sure to provide them with their best Chianti Classico to celebrate the wedding day!

Even if May is one of the best months to get married, they had three days of rain so everything was done under a terrazza and a marquee provided by the venue. Even if It was raining there was a break when we could enjoy some aperitivo in the garden while Alex and Laura where taking pictures in the vineyards around with the wedding photographer Andrea Corsi.

Laura choose a light blue palette for her bouquet, the arch and the table decoration. The flower decorations in the table where mixed with long stems and tealights candles that gave It all a romantic touch.

The newlyweds decided to start the party in the inner Taverna of the Fattoria so no wet or rain could stop them to dance. It was a day full of laugh and despite the rainy weather, Andrea was able to capture every single moment with authenticity.

What is the best month for Tuscany wedding

In Italy, the destination wedding season runs from April to October. Each of these months offers unique colours, scents and scenery; especially in Tuscany.

Between April and May, spring peeps out, the fields bloom but temperatures are still mild. June opens the door to summer and golden sunsets, which flare up between July and August. September says goodbye to summer, making way for the autumn colours of October.

To choose the ideal month for your Tuscany wedding, in addition to personal preferences, you need to take into account temperatures, the kind of location where the reception will take place, and costs.

July and August can be quite hot and also more expensive, while May, June, September and October are ideal for temperatures.

How do I get married in Tuscany Italy

“How do I get married in Tuscany? Do I need specific documents? Is a marriage celebrated in Italy valid in the UK, USA or Australia?” are some of most frequent questions.

Italy, and Tuscany of course, is an excellent choice for a destination wedding.

Among the many reasons you can imagine, there is also the fact that it is not necessary to be resident in Italy to get married.

The basic documents you will need for a legal wedding ceremony in Italy are:

To check specific requirements, it is necessary to contact the approprate embassy or consulate.
because legal documents and requirements may vary depending on the country of residence, nationality and individual circumstances.

If you plan to marry with a Catholic ceremony, you will need additional documents like certificates of baptism and confirmation, letters of no impediment to marry and proof of attendance at pre-wedding courses.

Getting all these documents could take around two months. So, I advice you to move in time.

Are you legally married if you marry in Italy?

If you have decided to get married in Italy, this is the first question that will come to your mind. Let’s make it clear!

Legally speaking, Italy recognizes two types of marriage: civil marriage and religious marriage.

Civil ceremonies in Italy are performed by the mayor or a civil officer, are conducted in Italian, and require an official interpreter (if the bride and groom do not speak Italian).
It can take place in city hall or in one of the venues approved by the municipality, such as castles, palaces and medieval villas.

Catholic marriage ceremonies require one of the two partners to be Catholic and require coordination between the Italian Church, the local church, municipal officials and consulates.
Generally, catholic ceremony is celebrated by a Catholic priest in a consecrated church or chapel. It can be conducted in English.

For both religious and civil marriages there are rules and documents to be provided.

To marry in Italy as foreigners, both partners must be single, legally divorced or widowed. The bride and groom must not be related, even if by adoption, and must have two witnesses by their side during the ceremony.

These are the required documents:

If you think these rules complicate the organization of your wedding in Italy, you can opt for a symbolic ceremony at a place of your choice after the official ceremony.

Lastly, documents, ceremony location, reception venue, menu, floral arrangements, mise en place and stationery… every single aspect must be chosen with care and expertise.

If taking care of all these aspects is not your strong suit, you can write to me here. I will be happy to organise your Italian style wedding.

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle definitely kept the world in suspense. They were married in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May 2018. Years later, the royal couple is still making waves.

Not just for the gossip or the release of Prince Harry’s memoir book “Spare”, but everyone remembers their fairytale wedding. Now tell me brides, if you didn’t fall in love with Markle’s incredible Clare Waight Keller wedding dress, or that the beautiful moment when the gospel choir sang “Stand By Me” during the ceremony didn’t move you.Not to mention the wedding cake, unique in flavour and design. Far from the royal wedding cakes of the past.

1. Harry and Meghan wedding: all royal couple’s choices

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first met in 2016; in November 2017 Prince Harry proposed to her with a unique three-stone engagement ring, which included diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection.Their wedding has gone down in history as the most awaited and followed royal wedding.

Let’s take a look at the best moments and details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

The wedding cake deserves a special paragraph. Curious? Read on.

2. Harry and Meghan wedding cake

Meghan Markle, in her past life, ran a lifestyle blog called The Tig. Markle had interviewed pastry chef and Californian Claire Ptak when the blog was still active. Ptak would years later bake a cake for the royal wedding of her interviewer.

Ptak owns Violet Cakes, a bakery-cafe in East London, bakes her cakes with organic ingredients and is known for her moist sponge cakes with incredible fresh fruit fillings, homemade caramel and fine chocolate.

Traditionally, the fruit cake has been chosen for royal weddings over the years. But, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, inspired by their spring wedding date, chose a lighter-flavoured cake.

The royal wedding cake was lemon and elderflower. But the special ingredient is Sandringham Elderflower Cordial. The cordial, made from flowers collected from one of Queen Elizabeth’s private homes, was used to wet the cake layers and give it an incredible floral flavour.

Ptak and his team used the kitchens of Buckingham Palace, rather than those of his own bakery, to make it.

Unlike the classic royal wedding cakes, all of which are very tall, Prince Harry and Meaghan Markle opted for a stunning display of multiple cakes, with two single-storey and one double-storey cake. Each cake was displayed on a gold stand directly from the royal family’s collection.

The cakes were composed of layers of lemon sponge cake, drizzled with elderflower syrup and topped with an Amalfi lemon cream. For the icing, the royal couple chose a delicious elderflower meringue buttercream. It is said to have taken 200 Amalfi lemons to make.

The cakes were adorned with many fresh flowers, mainly peonies and English roses. Harry and Meghan wanted a cake that incorporated the vibrant flavours of spring.

3. How to choose your wedding cake, inspiring to the royals one

What made Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake so special (like the whole wedding after all) was the attention to the seasonality of the ingredients and the care taken over every single detail: from the choice of composition, colours, flavours and even the flowers that would adorn the cake. All perfectly in keeping with spring, the season in which they chose to get married.

If not everyone can afford a $70000 cake – yes, it seems Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake cost around that amount – we can take inspiration for choosing the perfect wedding cake for your marriage.

As a wedding planner, I know in depth how important the choice of wedding cake is. It is not just a small detail, but a central element in the conclusion of a wedding.
As for all other aspects (the location for the ceremony and reception, invitations, floral arrangements, mise en place, etc.), the wedding cake should also respect the theme chosen for the wedding, the season and the personality of the bride and groom.

If you want to get married in Tuscany and want to organise a wedding that speaks of your love through every detail, you have landed on the right page.

Write here and tell me about your wedding as you have dreamed it.

With Marry me in Tuscany, you will be able to choose from the most beautiful Tuscan locations, you will have the best suppliers in the area with whom I have been collaborating for years.

Art, culture, breathtaking landscapes, world-famous food and wine tradition, medieval villages and Renaissance heritage: all wrapped up in a single region, Tuscany.

Charming lovers for centuries, with its rolling hills, olive groves, cypress trees and vineyards, Tuscany is one of the most romantic places in Italy, offering endless locations for a perfect wedding day.

If you wish to get married in Tuscany, grab a cup of coffee, get comfy and let’s chat about the best wedding venues in Tuscany!

Where to get married in Tuscany: Florence, Val d’Orcia, Siena or Chianti?

Choosing a wedding venue is the biggest challenge for newlyweds.

Tuscany has it all. For example? Florence, the Renaissance city; the Val d’Orcia with its cypress avenues; Siena with its timeless medieval charm; the Chianti region with its vineyards; at last but not least small medieval villages with a timeless atmosphere.

But, how do you choose where to get married in Tuscany? Let’s find out more about these incredible places.

Known as cradle of Renaissance, the historic center of Florence was one of the first in Italy to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Between Santa Croce and San Lorenzo districts, Florence embodies a large number of world-famous masterpieces of art: the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Fiore and Brunelleschi’s dome,  the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Boboli Gardens, the Accademia Gallery and the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella.

Surrounded by hills, Florence is one of the most romantic Italian cities. The romanticism of the Renaissance era creates a perfect frame for the celebration of love. After all, Dante – the poet and author of Divine Comedy – felt madly in love with his Beatrice in Florence.

The landscape of Val d’Orcia is really stunning. Crossed by the river Orcia, from which it takes its name, this region in the south of Tuscany, between Siena and Grosseto, is rich in green and sinuous hills, medieval castles and ancient villages, golden fields of wheat, cypress avenues and fabulous olive groves.

Nature shows off its colors, changing with the seasons, creating an almost surreal atmosphere. The same nature that has given rise to world-appreciated red Italian wines such as Brunello di Montalcino.

Siena is one of the most attractive medieval cities in Italy, surrounded by green hills and Chianti vineyards in the heart of Tuscany. Its historical centre is rich in architectural and cultural beauty: Palazzo Pubblico and the Museo Civico, the Duomo and the Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex, the Torre del Mangia and Piazza del Campo, where the Palio, a famous horse race, takes place.

Siena is a place of rare beauty with its small streets full of artisan shops. A precious setting for the big day.

Between the provinces of Florence and Siena, and a small part of Arezzo, the Chianti territory  is one of the areas of Tuscany most appreciated by tourists from all over the world, not only for its wine production.

Sun-kissed vineyards and olive groves, small charming villages such as Radda, Castellina and Gaiole in Chianti, characteristic stone houses and churches make Chianti the ideal setting for dreamlike photos.

The most beautiful villages in Tuscany for a dreamy destination wedding

The more you get to know Tuscany, the more you fall in love with this extraordinary destination. That’s why most couples fly a few days before their wedding, have an amazing wedding celebration, and then travel around Italy on their honeymoon.

Tuscany is the perfect region for destination weddings.

The small villages scattered in the Tuscan countryside between Chianti and Val d’Orcia are all worth exploring. Moreover, here you will find many locations for a rustic or country chic wedding.

In the Val di Merse, we find Chiusdino, a wonderful medieval village. Here stands the legendary “Abbey without a roof”, dedicated to San Galgano, one of the most impressive examples of Romanesque and Cistercian-Gothic architecture.

Entering the Abbey of San Galgano is a truly suggestive experience. An avenue of cypress trees accompanies the gaze up to the entrance of the Abbey, inside, stones and grass make up the current floor; the unglazed windows together with the cracks between the rocks let the sunlight filter through, creating an intriguing play of light and shadows.

This abbey, with the sky as a rooftop, is the perfect place to declare eternal love. Being deconsecrated – it is now a museum – it is possible to celebrate a civil ceremony.

Situated on a hilltop not far from Siena, Montepulciano is one of the most popular destinations for couples in love who wish to tie the knot in this medieval town full of elegant Renaissance palaces, small characteristic corners and ancient churches.  From this town, one can enjoy a striking beauty panorama of the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana.

If you wish to get married with a religious rite, the magnificent Abbey of Sant’Antimo with its magnificent travertine facade is the right choice.

Among the most famous villages in the Val d’Orcia and among the most beautiful ones in which to get married is Pienza, a true Renaissance jewel. In this area, there are many locations for a perfect rustic wedding. Romantic like few others, Pienza boasts one of the most evocative views of the Val d’Orcia, as are its intricate narrow streets, Via dell’amore and Via del bacio

Should you get married in Pienza, do not leave this village without visiting Palazzo Piccolomini.

Speaking of romance, one cannot fail to mention San Gimignano. Its towers, medieval palaces and frescoed churches make this village a place full of charm and magic, ideal for intimate weddings for a few guests.

In the heart of Valdelsa, in the province of Florence, there is one of the few medieval villages where time seems to stand still. Everything has remained almost entirely as it was originally. It is Certaldo, famous for being the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio.

And also CastellinaGaioleRadda in Chianti, the beating heart of Chianti.

Favorite days and times for couples getting married in Tuscany

Tuscany is a beautiful backdrop for a day as special as a wedding,  all year round.  Even though it is known for its long summer seasons and its mild weather, perfect for an outdoor wedding. Surely, the light of a sunset in the summer makes the atmosphere more magical.  That’s why many couples choose this period for their wedding.

The season of weddings in Tuscany usually starts from mid-April and ends in mid-October.

Among the favorite months, there are May, June and September. In July and August, newlyweds usually opt for a late afternoon event to avoid the hottest hours of the day.

In April and October, the availability of venues is generally wider. And besides, the milder temperatures allow people to celebrate daytime weddings.

The weekends are most popular, with Saturday in pole position, particularly for weddings designed to last several days. On Friday wedding arrangements begin, on Saturday the ceremony takes place, and on Sunday the guests can come back home or explore fantastic Tuscan villages.

Beyond statistics, if the bride and the groom fall in love at the first sight with a location, they become more flexible on the day in order to get married there. Also a midweek date has its upsides. Greater availability of suppliers is one of them.

A dreamy Tuscany

As Jo works in the tourism and hotels management and Dave is a chef they started 2 years ago to plan their destination wedding. They came to Italy just before the Corona Virus pandemic started: were lucky enough to see a florist, meet 2 caterers and other suppliers! I remember that day with happiness as even if it was in February we had time to drive around Tuscany.

It was a sunny day and do the most important parts of the planning . Then a hard period came and  some of the guests had to cancel their stay but the day before they had flights booked. The PM said british citizens were allowed to fly to Italy and they finally landed in Pisa!

The first day was relaxing and a nice dinner at the venue with all the friends and family. The weather was mild enough to allow them to have a swim and enjoy a bit of the famous Tuscan sun!

The following day Jo got ready in the upper floor of their suite. In the meanwhile all guests were relaxing in the garden while Elizabeth was taking pictures of them all.

Ceremony in Corona Virus period

The symbolic ceremony was celebrated in the garden under a romantic wisteria roof. All people were waiting for the bride to walk down the steps when a few drops of rain started to fall!!! It was just a moment and very funny as the bride started walking a bit faster trying to arrive down the pergola for the most exciting moment without being totally wet!  It was just a moment and then the sun came back again and with the amazing landscape of the Borgo it was the perfect scenery for the pictures!

The party go on respecting Corona Virus rules!

I was trying to check the aperitif buffet and the beautiful flowers decoration but as it was getting closer to 1pm. We decided it was time for a 5 minutes break and I had a spritz cocktail with my assistant Rebecca and the caterer ( I think really deserved it after all this period spent planning against Corona Virus and rules and laws changing every now and then!! ;-))))

If you want to know about rules you can see that they were all seated with more than a meter distance, (unless those who were family, of course….) and were wearing face masks when indoor. The venue gave us hand sanitizer and the guests brought some more from home, just in case there was not enough here

The only negative point was all the stress we had before. They came here as we didn’t know if they were able to fly, or even to stay in Italy without having to quarantine once back home. But apart from this all the guests were so happy to be able to visit Italy and taste the food and wine that they offend during their stay!

Italian taste during wedding reception

They had a great lunch with a huge buffet of aperitivi as well as many cocktails and white wine, a first course of  macaroni short pasta with pecorino cheese, figs and rocket.and an. incredible Lemon risotto with chives herb, one of my favorite dishes!! The main course was a delicious Chianina beef fillet in Wellington crust even if some guests opted for a beef fillet in Wellington crust paired with some veggies and potatoes.

After cutting the millefoglie wedding cake the bride decided it was time for a dress change and decided to  go for a sequin outfit to get the party started.

I was home when Rebecca sent me some pics of the bar decoration and the guests having fun and dancing all together with the children. The day ended with an amazing landscape covered in pink and orange like the cocktails poured in the glasses.
And it was also when I realized that we did the right thing, always respecting rules to protect the health of all the people, the guests and the workers. We were able to create a day that will last in their memories forever.

Hope you like my post and if you want to see more pics about the venue here is  a link to their website: weddingvenuesintuscany.info/listing-item/borgo-campanelli-2/

All the pictures in this post were taken from the super talented Elizabeth Armitage, an English girl living in Tuscany and the caterer is Class Ricevimenti . The gorgeous flowers you can see displayed were created by Bianchi Fiori, Poggibonsi.

See you on the next post about a wedding in Tuscany !!!

Wedding in Siena

September wedding in Siena

It was 2 years before their September wedding  when Janel contacted me for her special day in Siena. She wanted to be sure that all was perfect for such an important moment so we started the wedding planning a long time before. September weddings are lovely, mild temperatures, and chill nights to party with your guests. I really love this weather as it is perfect  to enjoy  every moment. I checked first Siena  availability and they confirmed that their wedding date and  time were free.

Civil wedding in Siena

One year before Janel got the list of documents for her legal marriage . As you surely know Brexit will be in just a few days, but at the moment, documents are still the same as I explained in one of my old posts . Be sure that the Officer knows that they have to put the whole address of the city .  Town halls  don’t accept documents that are not 100% correct ; but they only tell it a few weeks before the wedding!

Wedding during Corona Virus

But then the Corona Virus  arrived! We all know how stressful these months have been Here in Italy we started with total lockdown in March;  suddenly no more requests, many couples asking to postpone their weddings and me struggling to rearrange all services! Then summer came, the season started and the first weddings with some restrictions were finally celebrated!! First small groups, 6,12 then bigger and then fall came, with more requests and big parties allowed! In September we still had some small restrictions for Covid but we were able to celebrate ceremonies also indoor.

Civil wedding in Tuscany
Siena’s town hall has an amazing Council room totally covered with frescoes:  Janel got ready in a beautiful suite at Campo Regio Relais very close to the Townhall. Janel walked down the aisle with her father: I love Scottish dresses and he was wearing a kilt with wool socks, perfect for this season!

The Civil Officer was waiting for us inside the majestic council room: the violin started to play when Janel walked down his husband to be. All the guests were seating  after all the months spent waiting and planning Graeme and Janel finally said I do!

It was a day full of emotions but all the guests were finally able to be in Siena for the big day!

A guide to men’s wedding ring styles

Exchanging wedding rings with your partner is likely to be one of the highlights of your wedding ceremony. But shopping for a wedding band can be an overwhelming process. Especially if this is the first time you’ve chosen a ring for yourself. To help you get started, Jack Jahan, from Ramsdens Jewellery, explains what to look for in a men’s wedding band.

Your wedding band is likely to be the most meaningful and important piece of jewellery you ever own. And, not only does it have a lot of sentimental value. But you’re also going to wear it every day, so it’s essential that you pick a timeless style that you’ll love wearing for a long time to come. You’re also probably going to want to invest a fair bit of money in your ring to make sure it’s something that will last a lifetime. And all of this can mean that there’s quite a lot of pressure on you to make the right choice!

Different styles of wedding rings

While most people tend of think of wedding rings as being quite plain and unassuming, there’s actually lots of choice out there. It can make it tricky to know where to start. In this post, I’ll take you through all the different styles of wedding band for men, so you can find a ring that you’ll love wearing for the rest of your life.

Choosing a precious metal for your wedding ring

Perhaps the most important decision you’ll need to make when ring shopping is which kind of precious metal you want. There’s a lot more to consider than simply whether you like the colour, too. In fact different kinds of metals have different properties, strengths, and weaknesses, so you’ll need to weigh up the pros and cons of each kind. Additionally, the material that the ring is crafted from can have a big influence on the price. Due to you’ll have to bear your budget in mind when making your decision, too.

A ring can of course be made from any kind of metal. But, for wedding bands, the following tend to be the most popular:

Choosing a style for your wedding ring

A plain, unadorned band is often the most popular choice for a wedding ring. But you don’t need to stick with the traditional choice if you’d rather have something a little less conventional. These days, there have never been more options for fashion-forward grooms who want to stand out from the crowd. If the classic plain wedding band isn’t really your style, you could also consider going for a:

Pick a profile for your band

If you do decide to stick with the more traditional classic band design, you might be surprised to learn that there are lots of different profiles to choose from. This refers to the shape of the surface of the band, and it can have a big impact on both the look of the ring, and the way it feels on your finger.

One of the most popular profile styles are domed bands, which are shaped like the letter “D”. They have a smooth, rounded shape, which gives them an elegant appearance, and means they’re very comfortable to wear. At the other end of the spectrum, flat rings are the same width all the way around the band. This gives them a more chunky, masculine look, but some people might find that the hard edges are a bit uncomfortable when worn.

The best way to find a profile that you like is to try a few different styles on in person: this will give you a better idea of how each ring feels on your finger. It will also give you an indication of whether you prefer thicker, chunkier bands, or more delicate styles.

Making your ring your own

A wedding ring is a highly personal item, so it’s only natural that you’ll want to make it your own. There are lots of ways to do this, but one of the most popular is getting your ring engraved with a personal inscription, like your partner’s initials, the date of your wedding, or a lyric or quote that holds a special meaning for you and your spouse. Plus, if your partner chooses to add a similar engraving, can be a really romantic way to link your rings together, even if you’ve gone for different styles, metals, or profiles.

Be sure to bear these tips in mind when shopping, and you should have no difficulty finding the perfect wedding ring.
