Since I started my business with Marry me in Tuscany I always heard about engagement done in USA and Uk: I was quite skeptical about the success this kind of thing could have in Italy, but as you know, never say never, and as soon as we started showing pictures done with couples from abroad we got the first request for Tuscany ! Here you can see Ilaria and Michele once they were waiting for us at the small cafeteria were we had an appointment:
These 2 young guys who met during their erasmus project, in Spain. As they both come from the same city, Lucca https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AekC_l7KZe8 they decided to have their engagement service done there.
We arrived in a lovely spring morning with my photographer and decided to avoid the crowded streets of the center and taking some pictures around the famous “Bastioni”. The time of the year was perfect as spring is normally very mild in Tuscany and we really had a great time going around with Federico and his assistant Sofia along the green areas of the city. I really likeMarch as a month, because after a long winter you really realize spring has come, so light is shining and pictures can be taken open air too.
And these are more pics of the event:
I also like black and white style so this is a shot I personally ask for my gallery:
So what do you think about these pictures? Lucca is very nice and only 1 hour away driving from Florence: Siena can also be a perfect spot for such an experience and the famous landscapes of the rolling hills are awaiting for you! If you are interested and want to hear more about our engagement packages please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a ring/Skype. We will be very glad to help you choose the right location for your perfect shooting service. Thanks to Federico Pannacci (www.fedepan.net ) for the wonderful day and patience with my clients!!! 🙂
Marry Me In Tuscany was delighted to be the wedding planner for Rebecca and Andy who got married in beautiful Cortona in September 2012. Cortona was once an important Etruscan centre, Cortona and is perhaps now best known for the book and movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”, which put it firmly on the list of top 10 places to visit in Tuscany.
It’s a quaint town with lots of churches, museums, bars and restaurants and is perched high on a hilltop and on a clear day you have the most amazing views of Lake Trasimeno and the valley below. There are lots of wonderful places close by to explore, Perugia, Arrezzo and the Val di Chiana, Pienza, Montepulciano and of course Siena isn’t too far away.
But back to the wedding, Rebecca and Andy choose a beautiful villa complex so that all their friends and family could stay together and enjoy a week’s holiday together. The morning of the wedding, I rolled up with the caterer to transform the poolside area into the dining area for the wedding breakfast and for the bar and dancing late into the night.
The wedding ceremony took place inside the medieval town hall which has imposing steps and a Romeo & Juliet balcony sadly not the one the two lovers used but couples can have their photos taken there after the wedding ceremony.
After the wedding they had their cocktail hour in the piazza so that they could go off with Andrea Pitti their wedding photographer and get some fabulous photos and their guests could soak up the atmosphere of this wonderful medieval city whilst being serenaded by Sara the harpist who had also played during the wedding ceremony. Then it was time to head back to the villa to relax and enjoy the wonderful food prepared by the caterer.
Rebecca chose a gorgeous 50s style tea length dress and she looked absolutely stunning. As you can see from the photos below they had a wonderful fun time.
Thanks for letting me be part of your special day.
Back in May, Marry Me in Tuscany met up with Carla & Ola again not only to discuss the final details of their wedding in June but to have some fun with Lelia Scarfiotti and do an engagement shoot which was part of their wedding photograph package. Lelia had decided to include this excellent feature into her wedding photograph package firstly to meet the couples prior to the wedding and secondly to put them at their ease in front of the camera.
As seems to have been the case with Carla & Ola the weather forecast invariably says rain when they come over so we decided not to do the photo shoot in Chianti but to meet with them at their wedding venue the beautiful Villa Belpoggio in Loro Ciuffenna. True to form the sun shone and we managed to get outside and get some wonderful shots, despite being initially worried about the photo shoot, not being photogenic or gorgeous enough, Oh please! Lelia had hardly started when they relaxed and got into it and as everyone can see from the photos below they are a very gorgeous photogenic couple that are very much in love.
These are just a few samples of the engagement shoot by Lelia Scarfiotti and you can see the rest on her blog “waiting 4 June by clicking here.
Being a destination wedding planner in Tuscany, I’m always looking for ways to improve the services of Marry Me in Tuscany for my clients. As many couples start looking for their venue at least a year before the big day they need to send out save the date cards. “Save the date cards” are a great way of telling your friends and family when you’re getting married and where so they can start planning their trip too.
As clients in the past have asked if I have a save the date card they can use this got me thinking that it might be a great idea to have a personalized Marry Me In Tuscany “Save the date card” which couples could send to their guests to announce their destination wedding in Tuscany.
During the last couple of weeks I have been speaking to Sophie from Cards by Sophie about designing a special Marry Me in Tuscany Save the date card for me. As Save the Date cards are issued a long time before the wedding date they don’t need to reflect the final wedding colour scheme and so as Marry Me in Tuscany’s favourite colour (well mine really) is purple, Sophie came up with these beautiful cards which she has called “Tuscan” for me. After discussing the save the date cards with Sophie I have now decided to add these to my Platinum wedding package for couples getting married either later this year or in 2012 and beyond.
Of course couples using the silver and gold wedding package can also get these at a special price from Cards by Sophie or they could chose something different from Sophie’s extensive range to co-ordinate with their wedding theme.
On the back of the card are Marry me in Tuscany’s details very handy should your guests need to get in touch with me for accommodation or advice on travelling or even if they want to organize a surprise bottle of champers for the happy couple.
Inside you’ll find the details of the couple, the date of the wedding and the announcement that a formal invitation is to follow.
I think you’ll agree that this a great idea and one that couples organizing their destination wedding to Tuscany will appreciate.
Sophie has also written a guest blog for me so you can have a look at some of her wonderful wedding stationary to give you inspiration for your destination wedding in Tuscany.
